Modes of Engagement

Our design services could be engaged in one of the following way:

1. Strategic Design Contract:
IDE defines strategy to meet client requirements, costs are fixed and tight deadlines are guaranteed. This method ensures risks are managed and met by IDE. In this context IDE consult the client and help them define and shape the given problem. IDE takes responsibility for strategy definition and development appropriate to the problem. All strategy outcomes, costing and timescales are agreed prior to commencement of the project. Approvals from client at defined gate intervals (gate reviews) to proceed further.

2. Design Project Partnership:
IDE present a variety of options with varying timescales and priorities. This method ensures responsibility is shared evenly between IDE & the Client timings and costs are fluid and reviewed at the conclusion of each project stage. A partnership involves IDE outlining a structure of project and strategy and concept options. The client can then pick and choose as appropriate to the needs of the project. Timings and costs are reviewed at each stage in order to give the client increased flexibility over the projects course.

3. Contract Design Service (offshore/on-sight):
Client dictates services required. Client retains full project management responsibility.
Project costs are invoiced at a standard man-day rate. This method suits retained services and regular design buyers Here the client already has a clear project strategy and direction in mind. IDE takes responsibility for implementing that strategy, with project management input coming from the client, and costing worked out by a standard man-day rate charged across for an agreed number of days.
